Stanford University Visit to SM Entertainment

Learning other cultures, especially from other foreign countries, is always exciting and fun because we get to learn and experience things that might not happen in our own cultures. So when students from Stanford University got to visit South Korea as a part of their study trip, they were ecstatic!

SM entertainment

SM Entertainment organized and held the event of “Korean Global Trip 2011”, which is a 27 days program where students get to know the management and organizations of SM Entertainment. Students also get to know the ways of how the company could strive and be successful. The company held the event in their office in Cheongdam and involved seminars, discussions, and talks concerning their unique ways in becoming one of the most successful businesses in South Korea. There are several artists from the company coming to the talks, such as Tiffany and Jessica from SNSD, Kangta, Chang Liyin, Shinee, and f(x).

When students attended the event, they even requested the girls from SNSD to be present. They were very passionate about learning the Korean cultures as well as the life style. They even learned the “Gee” dance movements from the girls. They were also impressed by Lee So Man’s success and the interesting event.

SM Entertainment’s Donation to the Japanese Red Cross

No one would expect or want disasters or unfortunate events hit them, but life could be unpredictable and also cruel, sometimes. What happened to Japan was a great tragedy and loss. Not only the natural disaster causes great chaos and damages but it also causes a lot lives missing and gone. There’s nothing much we could do, except praying and hoping, and also lending a hand. There’re many things we can do to help, from giving out physical help in relief work or in donating supplies, food, or money.

The SM Entertainment, the giant entertainment agency from South Korea, has donated about 1 million KRW – or about $900,000 – to the Japanese Red Cross with the hope that the donation could be helpful. The agency and the artists, especially the girls from SNSD, are moved by the great tragedy, so they’re hoping that their donation will be used for humanity help. They’re hoping that the courageous survivors will hold on and keep on struggling despite the harsh and difficult condition. Other agencies such as the YG Entertainment state that they will donate about half a million dollars, while JYP Entertainment will also donate some money to help the victims.
